Dear John,

I think of you often and remember our school holidays from 1954 and on.
You were a huge comfort to me in our early years in boarding school at Newington.
Looking through my dad's old slide photos brings it all back again.
We often spent Sundays at Dee Why with my friend Peter Brain and Max Talbot, also boarding at Newington.
You and Jan accommodated us at Wombeira in 1974 when Wendy and I were on our honeymoon.
Thank you for sharing, I will forever remember you. Farewell John.

Dear John
You will be sadly missed by your family and remembered for your loving family support and your eccentric sense of humour. You remain in my thoughts of Goodooga and childhood memories of Denman and Wombeira.
Love Sandy

Dear John
You were a true country boy—tough, hardworking, and never afraid to speak your mind. You didn't suffer fools lightly and valued honesty, common sense, and hard work above all else. Your strength and determination carried you through life, earning the respect of those around you. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for your courage, wisdom, and unmistakable spirit.
Go free and enjoy the welcoming party that Janet, John, Jean, Allan and Valerie have organised for you. Rest easy—you've earned it. ❤️
